Accounting for product returns

Find the original sale

First check which sale and item are being returned, the quantity, and the original price and discount. Do not estimate an old return using today’s selling price.

A return can be partial

For a bill with several items, account only for what came back. Shopkeeper supports partial returns and reverses the corresponding original profit and tax.

Record where the refund goes

Refunds can go to cash or bKash, or remain as customer credit. Record the actual refund method. Receiving the goods is only part of handling a return.

Correct without erasing

Voiding a same-day sale and returning part of a sale are different actions. Record what happened. Keep the correction history instead of replacing the original transaction.
